IDFNZ ‘Journey Through PID’ Conference 2024
Thu Dec. 12th 2024
A highlight of this year was the one-day PID conference held in Auckland. We were thrilled to see over 60 patient delegates from across New Zealand attending the event.
The day was filled with excellent information from our amazing medical professionals and sharing of poignant personal stories from a selection of brave patient members and parents. The sharing of information and experiences across these groups, was powerful, and helped to build better understanding and communication. The day ended with people asking, ‘when can we do this again?’. We hear you loud and clear – and will ensure these events are held on a regular basis.
Our thanks to all the speakers who gave freely of their time to support the IDFNZ patient community. Thanks also to Dr Annaliesse Blincoe and Amy Barker for their careful planning to make this such a success.
For those members who were unable to attend conference, we have recorded the individual talks and plan to make these available in the new year.
Congratulations and thanks to Dr Miriam Hurst
Miriam served on the IDFNZ Board for over a decade, stepping down when she took a sabbatical break studying overseas. She has served our patients well over this time, including offering outstanding support to the IDFNZ patient community throughout the uncertainty of the Covid period.
Miriam will continue to be involved as a specialist, and as part of the NZCIAG group medical panel advising IDFNZ.
