Up-coming Events: Rare Disease Day 2025

Rare Disease Day is the globally coordinated movement on rare diseases, working towards equity in social opportunity, healthcare, and access to diagnosis and therapies for people living with a rare disease.

Since its creation in 2008, Rare Disease Day has played a critical part in building an international rare disease community that is multi-disease, global, and diverse– but united in purpose.

All IDFNZ patient members are members of the Rare Disease community, so it is fitting that as an organisation we include this event in our calendar. Follow our awareness campaign on Facebook.

This year we have IDFNZ RDD family events planned for Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington. Invitations to register are included in the Summer newsletter.

 Other Rare Disease NZ Events - You are also encouraged to check out the RDNZ  ‘Show up and Glow Up’ events for March, including their epic Rare Beer Challenge March 7^th, with Craft breweries from around the region hosting individual competitions. A great way to have fun and support the wider Rare Disease community as they raise awareness.
